How to work with Saleswah?
What you should read before working with Saleswah
Saleswah CRM is a enterprise class CRM software for managing the entire gamut of your Sales and Marketing activities. It assumes your
company has a marketing team and a sales team. Salesgenie CRM++ users can have one
of 5 roles:
- Sales Executive
- Sales Co-Ordinator/ Telesales
- Sales Manager
Each of the above roles have different privileges
- Data access
Basics of Saleswah functions, roles and data access
Saleswah works on the assumption that sales teams are organized in a hierarchy. The sales organization is like a pyramid; headed by a person who is in charge of sales and marketing functions
Sales executives manage territories with “Accounts”- customer organizations. The customer accounts employ contacts who you engage as part of the sales process. Each Sales team has Sales executives who report to managers and who in turn report to other, more senior managers.
Sales Execs A, B, C reporting to manager X cannot see any customer details except those that are assigned to them. But, X can see and have access to all the data and reports of territories/ accounts managed by A, B and C.
Sales team members can perform all the activities related to the accounts and contacts in their territories; subject to the limitations of the licenses held by them. You should have at least a Saleswah Basic or Saleswah SFA level of license to perform the activities required in a sales role.
Marketing team members can perform the following functions:
- Create and send marketing campaigns to the entire database.
- Add/ Modify Contact and Account Records.
Of course, you can view all records in the entire database, but, you do not have edit privileges to the sales related records- like deal records. Nor can you send quotes or proposals or invoices or acknowldge purchase orders. A marketing person needs a Saleswah CRM license to be able to perform his role.
Sales co-ordinators/ Telesales team members can view all records of the database, send quotes and proposals, PO acknowldgements and Invoices but only on behalf of the sales executives who “own” the customers. They do not “own” accounts the way sales executives do. You need at least a Saleswah Basic or Saleswah SFA license for a Sales Co-ordinator
Sales Managers have access to the same functionalities that Sales Executives have. In addition, they get access to the customer data of the sales executives or managers below them in hierarchy. You need to have a Saleswah SFA license to be effective in your role as a Sales Manager.
All types of licenses can perform contact uploads. Saleswah allows you to upload an Excel file containing your contact details into the database. The contacts and accounts are by default uplaoded against the user who has performed the upload. Accounts (and by extension, contacts and associated activities records like deals, invoices, quotations etc) can be reassigned to another sales executive or manager.
The administrator is the most powerful role in the Saleswah hirerarchy. This role is by deafult assigned to the person who registered the client account with Saleswah. He can perform in the dual role of the senior most in the hierarchy and the account administrator. He is by deafult assigned the Saleswah CRM license for free. Other than the sales manager privileges, he can do / needs to perform the following:
- Batch-upload contacts into the database. Note that Accounts are
automatically created from the contacts upload file.
- Batch-upload the product-price sheet.
- Upload your company logo; set up your email server to work with
- Upload your standard terms and conditions of quotations you send
to customers. Add currencies and conversion factors if you quote in multiple currencies.
- Assign the Accounts to the right Sales Executive.
Saleswah licenses and their capabilities are summarized here.
